This is the time of year when apples and pears are in season, making it the perfect opportunity to incorporate them into your meals, whether in salads, baked goods, or simply enjoyed on their own. My personal favorite fall treat is a simple apple and pear crisp, packed with all the comforting flavors of the season.
At Vie’s Vitality Kitchen, we love creating recipes that highlight the nutrients of each ingredient. Apples and pears, rich in vitamins and fiber, are the stars of this delightful dessert. The warm spices of cinnamon and nutmeg not only enhance the flavors but also provide immune-supporting benefits. Topped with a crunchy oat and almond flour mixture, this crisp is the perfect way to end your meal on a sweet and nourishing note. Enjoy the taste of autumn with every bite!

kcalIngredients
3 apples, peeled and sliced
3 pears, peeled and sliced
1 cup oats
1/2 cup almond flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 cup honey or maple syrup*
1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a baking dish, combine apples, pears, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a bowl, mix oats, almond flour, honey, and coconut oil. Sprinkle over fruit.
- Bake for 35 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Notes
- Use can also substitute the recipe with 1/4 cup of coconut sugar in place of the 1/4 cup of honey. Since coconut sugar is a dry sweetener, consider adding a bit of extra liquid to maintain the desired texture. You could add about 1-2 tablespoons of water or additional melted coconut oil to balance the moisture content.
